Default haslam

where from the blue mcaw do the horns come from,for the haslam,i.e. tail,wings? if they are from the wings would they have to come from a matched pair,thank you.

Fairly sure they are from the tail of the bird.

Usually taken from either a centre tail or pair tail feathers, wings flights are to thin & not as well marked for most horns.

Ara ararauna Macaw feathers are dual coloured; be it a primary or the more usual tail, blue on the outer surface and yellow (refered to as gold by parrot breeders ) on the underside as the image clearly shows.
