Default Vice advice

Am looking for a better vice mine is 20 yrs old and is worn becoming a pain to adjust. It was cheap to start with...

This is what I am looking for ;

Style: a standard pedestal type such as the HMH . Want to tie from a size 20 to a size 6 sea trout fly. Like the bobbin roller facility and am prepared to pay around £125 maybe a little more for something decent, any suggestions guys the choice is bewildering and would prefer a recomendation from a user...

Andy

Hi Andy,

I can recommend the HMH Spartan. I've used one for over 15 years & it's still working flawlessly. I don't think you can do better for the money mate

All the best

Kev

Andy
I recently bought the HMH Spatrtan from Flytastic for about the £125
Because it was a few days late being sent he included a load of tying material

The vice is exactly what I wanted.

Having used a Dyna-king Pro for many years, I've never needed to swap but I changed from an HMH to it & never regretted it. Take a very good look at the D/K Squire/Kingfisher etc before you decide.

The Anvil Atlas is a very good vice for the money.
