Been ages since I posted anything on the fly tying board. This little beauty produced quite a few fish for me yesterday. I posted a pic on the monnow thread, but then thought I would share it more widely.
I wanted something that suggested both sedge and mayfly as I wasn't sure whether the fish would be on the mayfly yet. This did the trick.
Its easy to tie - this is just a sz 12 partridge klinkhammer hook with cream antron body and brown thread rib. Thorax is light coloured hare's ear plus dubbing (from Siman) and the wing has an underwing of deer hair and then 4 cdc on top to match colour of deer hair wing. Tie them in concave, then convex like this () - but laying horizontal - to get a cdc wing that stays bushy and dries faster.
