One Day Wonder

Hello All, have you ever tied a fly that you used for only one day and caught all day then nothing ever again, I tied a Canis nymph.
Hooks 12 to 22s
Thread, White cotton.
Body and Thorax White Goose picked of the bank-side where I fish.
Thorax cover, Brown Goose from the same site as White Goose.
No rib and no tail.
I was pulling it at speed and the fish were hitting the nymph hard so hard that they were stripping the dressing as it was a simple tying with no strenghth in it's body.
