Yep floss can be tricky but Polar Fibre is pretty bad stuff for me - I have never been able to sit the stuff correctly and I have now given almost all of my stocks away!

As I have not been tying long I have not used that many materials , but of the ones I have used I find Squirrel tail a ****er as it slips and slides all over the place

Trying to dub antron wool strands is a fool's errand as far as I'm concerned.
Rarely have I seen a material that springs off the waxed thread with such joie de vivre.
Truly horrible stuff!

I used to have difficulty with dubbing seals fur, but then I learned the trick of spitting on my fingers.

I can now dub this stuff like a pro.

Chopping it up and blending it in a coffee grinder with either a natural or more benign synthetic material works well.

Antron is basically carpet fibre and as such its main design attribute is that it's hard wearing, hence its relative stiffness - great for wing posts - b1tch to dub.
