Default my first flies + pics

here's a few pictures of my first flies. i started tying them yesterday, and photographed them this morning. i havent really followed the step by steps to the letter, rather i borrowed the techniques used, and substituted the limited materials i have at the moment.

i'd like to say a huge thank you to all the people who have posted step by steps, as they've made life very easy for a beginning fly tyer like my self.

those last two are probably my best so far.

hopefully, i've done ok for my first day. i decided to go for the more difficult flies first. i know this is probably a bad idea, but all comments and criticisms very welcome.

steve

Thumbs up Very nicely done.

If this is a 'first effort' they're better than my 'last effort.'

thanks guys, i'm pretty shocked how well the turned out for my first time. allthough, i didn't show my very first couple of attempts. i ended up cutting them up and reusing the hooks. they were embarrasingly bad, but they served their purpose and tought me how not to do it.

by the way, does anyone know any online stores i can get hold of fly tying materials at a good price. i'm fed up of paying norwegian prices, and it'll be cheaper to buy over in the uk and ship it over.

Good efforts, now go get em wet

There's something very satisfying in catching your first fish on a fly you tied yourself
