Default just tied my first flies

hi guys and girls, i just went out and bought some tying gear (much to the annoyance of my other half), and have just completed my first flies. i'm having great fun experimenting. so far i've done a few of the step by steps here, but modified to use the limited materials i've got at the moment. i've been truly bitten by the bug and see this as the next step on my fishing ladder. my ultimate goal is to make my own rod, but that's a big jump right now.

when i figure out how to post pics, i'll post some for you guys to check out (no laughing please, it is my first day)

Welcome to the crazy world of fly-tying Stevo,
It's addictive, and it will cost you far more than buying factory-made flies but it's worth it. Very relaxing (if you can keep your pets out of your feathers box) and rewarding. Nothing quite like catching on your own flies and experimenting with patterns to suit your local conditions.

I hope your other half is understanding!

thats what i think its about making use of what you have got instead of what you havent GJ, an if you wanna try your hand at rod buildin an repair get your self a cheap blank an practise whiping on some rings,

all the best james

Tying your own flies is highly addictive especially when you start catching with your own
