This fly is untried as I only knocked it up this afternoon. The photo is a quicky, so please excuse.
I have high hopes for this fly. Although it is untried, it is based on two flies, the Blue Tinker and the Kingfisher Butcher, that have proven themselves. I am trying to develope a fly for those difficult, very bright, summer days, and more specifically in clear, not peat stained water.
The colours used are all favourites for the above conditions, so here is hoping.
Thread - Black.
Tail - GP tippets dyed Orange.
Rib - Silver Ex-Small Oval Tinsel
Body - Veniard's Aqua Blue Holographic Flat Medium Tinsel.
Body Hackle - Black Cock or Hen (I have used the former in this case).
Head Hackle - Grizzle Hen - (Turns to suit).
The Veniard's tinsel is new on the market. I got mine from Anderson Angling who is a trader on these fora.
