Default Fritz Cat/Fritz Whisker Recipe?

Hello there,

Could anyone provide a recipe for this fly?

It's a pattern I've had alot of success with recently and would like to have a crack at tying my own this weekend.

First I have to suss what it's made off; looks simple in essence - green fritz and white marabou... with black thread...anything I'm missing?

Thanks!

Rich

Rich,

I use scarlet thread to create hot spot. I also put a bit of flash in the tail. One other thing I do is weight it with a few turns of fine lead wire as I find the marabou keeps it very bouyant. Just my personal preference if I know the fish are deep.

Any use?

Andy

Try them on a #12/#14 wee double hooks. Fluo green tail, chartreuse vampire stro body and an orange head. Works for me.

Thanks for the advice chaps!

I'll tie a few variations and post some pictures on here for some feedback....
if I can untrap my fingers from practicing this whip-finish business...!

Cheers,

Rich
