What to make with Peacock Herl..
here are a few favorites we use over here in the far west of NA, hope you boys have luck using them...
Peacock Dragon:

Caddis pupa:

* Hook - Tiemco 5263, Tech Twin NFC200 or Mustad 9671
* - sizes 8 - 12
* Bead - gold or black
* Body - Antron yarn or acetate floss - insect green
* Rib - small crystal chenille in brown olive
* Wingcase and Wing - pheasant
* Thorax & Head - peacock herl
1. Put bead on hook. Make thread base back to above barb.
2. Tie on rib and yarn. Wrap yarn up to 2/3 of hook making body quite thick. Counterwrap rib and tie off.
3. Tie on pheasant tail for wingcase. Make peacock herl rope and tie in thickly for thorax. Bring wingcase over and tie down.
4. Wrap pheasant tail fibres or pheasant rump feathers as wing, extended down to length of body and tied in close to body (Carrie style). Twist and pull feather fibres around hook.
5. Form head with peacock herl wrap and tie off.
52 Buick:

* Hook - TMC 9300 - size 10 or 12
* - or Mustad 9672
* Thread - olive
* Tail - partridge fibres
* Rib - silver oval tinsel - 4-5 wraps evenly spaced
* Body - dubbing or yarn - olive - tie about 1/3 back from the eye
* Legs - pheasant fibres from neck feather
* Thorax - peacock herl rope
..maybe, others will post their favorites in here as well.........AW
