Default Angilina fibre and film

Visited the Craft Fair at Penshurst Place today and whilst looking through the Artists material marquee I found this supplier / impotrter for the range of Angilina fibres and films. I stocked up at the show (at show prices) but they they also have a website that sells the full range. I used to get it from Hobbeycraft but for some reason they no longer stock it.

Angelina Fibres - Angelina Fibres , Crystalina Fibres , Fusible Film - Colourcraft Ltd

Its a bit soft for the dubbing is it not, fades when you twist it. I bought some last winter from hobby craft thinking it was identical to lite brite. I was in hobby craft on monday past and its still on the shelf. A lovely mix called forrest bronze which would be called peacock in the fly tying world. I didn't buy it after being dissappointed with the UV blue or crystal amethyst as they call it.

I normally mix it in my blends to give a bit of sparkle have not tried it a a single dubbing, the forest green mixed with Black Seals fur it makes a nice beetle or black buzzer dubbing and the Watermelon(pink) with pink seals fur for pink shrimps.

It pays to experiment with blends of different natural furs.

Yip, mixing it with fur would give you a very subtle effect, it just breaks very easily thats the worry. I have so many of these flash dubbing materials now, I have virtually the whole set of flash bright (given to me), I have loads of the lite brite mixes and even the glister mixes. I hardly use the stuff! Yes, Im a fly tyer and therefore a hoarder and one day I'll have the willpower to pass it on to the next poor tyer who will have a million uses for the stuff but nevertheless find the natural materials the best and only ever use a smidgen of about 3% of the colours available

If you visit Craftynotions web site you will see the full range of this stuff, is exactly the same as Ice Wing fibre and light brite only a fraction of the price, better for blending with as opposed to been used as a straight dubbing.
Cheers
Gerry
