Default Another damned olive.

After much deliberation I finally decided to take the plunge and take a picture outdoors in natural light. I kinda wish I hadn't now.

Hook: Hayabusa 761 #10
Thread: UNI 8/0, yellow.
Tail: Guinea fowl secondary dyed dark olive.
Tag: Gold holo, fine.
Body: Rear; a mix of pine squirrel and grey squirrel dyed yellow. Front; a mix of claret and fiery brown pine squirrel.
Rib: Medium UTC opal twisted round gold wire.
Hackle: Jay dyed yellow.
Wing: Starling.

Very nice mate, has a hint of cock robin in it.

I thought I had enough materials to last a life time, but it looks like I need some pine squirrels as that dubbing looks great.

I may try a very sparse dabbler version of it too.

Actually mate, I quite like the background. Had to wind down to 2.8 to get the blur though. The thing that p*ssed me off the most was the fact that it looks more lively than most of my indoor shots, which means I've either got to actually get my poo together and build a proper indoor set up or crawl around in the bloody back yard, grovelling awound in the filth like you do.

Definitely a Cock Robin element there Ben. I as just playing around and it wasn't until it was all finished I thought, "b*gger, another CR variant then"? I reckon a dabbler would look OK but I think you'd lose the spikiness of the grey squirrel amongst the body hackle, negating the effect of the natural barring somewhat.
