Hi Bigtroot
In my opinion you only need to spend around £135 at the most for a vice. The vice I use is an HMH Spartan. I find them very strong, well made and easy to use which leaves you with £165 to spend on fly tying tools, materials or even a tube fly vice to complete your bench.
Happy tying.
Cheers, Dave

I recently pushed the boat out and bought a Dyna king barracuda. fantastic piece of kit and built to last. I'm not sorry I bought it.

Another vote for the D-K Barracuda. Built like a tank, holds hooks rock solid and true 360 degree rotation - a pleasure to use.
