Default Peacock herl

Hoi Spider ,

there's a few out there that retail this ,think i got some from Lakeland a while back.Only thing i found was that it was very brittle and needed to be soaked in water for a while before using.I now buy the dyed eyes from Cookshill and strip myself using a pencil erazer...works a treat.

Mike

A lot of the commercially stripped & dyed herls are dipped in bleach to remove the flue, leaving them in the bleach for a few seconds to long has the effect mentioned above.

If you use the search facility (above r/h side) you'll see loads of posts with different methods of stripping.

Or you could try one of the numerous alternatives such as peccary, porcupine etc or even a man made sub. by someone like Hends (flytyingboutique do it).
