Default hayabusa hooks alternative???

hi guys,

been trying to souce some hayabusa hooks and the price has jumped up and not least, even if u offer to bulk buy the per 1000 to get a cheaper price per hook you cannt (main reason main agent wholesaler wont supply them wholesale to anyone anymore!!) so its basically a fiver per 50. or £100 a thousand if u look at like that its a bloody ridiculous price.

Does anyone use anything different other than the 751 or 31530 (same hook apparently)? if so price and where can i get them?

I used to love the 751 heavier than the kamasan 175 which is a great very good hook but think the 751 has the edge.

Otherwise its back to kamasan as they are still priced reasonabley at £5 a hundred. and cheaper if u go the 1000 route.

No doubt there are alot of other tyiers out there looking for a different "comp hook" so if u know post up please.

I happened to need a few 100 hooks some days ago, so I called Stuart Illesly of Eyebrook tackle. We were chatting about their prices & he said that a lot of the prices are now very dependant on the time they are ordered. Consequently the $ v Yen ratio has & is having a major effect on many prices.

I was talking to a mate of mine the other day who ties for a living and he is adamant that Kamasan will only supply their hooks in multiples of 25 per pack. even if you order a 1000 you will get 40x25 packs. He's convinced that the 100 hooks for a fiver that are available on the market are cheap copies and not the real mcCoy.

I can't see any of the retailers employing someone to count hooks into a bag so I'm starting to get round to his line of thinking. Having said that I still use the 100 hook packs and don't get any problems other than with the B100 which are very lightweight. don't get any problems with the B110, B175's, B405's, B160's or B170's that I use.

Bill (Pearly Dabbler) is also worth a try for Hyabusa's.

Not true, I get my bulk kamasan hooks in boxes of 1000 and can assure you they are the genuine item, they used to do boxes of 100 but they have been phased out so it is only when you order less than multiples of 1000 you get the 25 pack boxes.

Default KAMASAN HOOKS

There are rougue kamasan hooks some people are buying the k series and selling as the b series even some out there with different coatings.
i was one of the first to bring hayabusa to this part of the world with david rice so long ago they were £8.30 per thousand, have gone up quite a bit now and in mho the best on the market ps i still have many in stock subject to the rumour of being discontinued.we can no longer buy in bulk which in my opinion puts the price up on the hooks.

Default nyone found a substitute for the 761?

anyone found a substitute for the 761?

We all know that they were cheap.... no longer the case. It would seem that the supply is now under monopoly by one company.

So to help benefit everyone does anyone found a substitute for the 761? or alternative to the b175
