Default Dabblers

What's the best way to tie the bronze mallard cloaking?

I have alway started by tying it on first pointing forward, then brushing it back after completing the rest of the fly. I seen it done at least 2 different ways and wondered what was best?

Seems to me that you're tying the material down twice upon itself, that's got to add to bulk . . . . . . . .

Simplest way is to double the BM strip and loose-wrap, a bit like flaring deer hair. Watch how Lawrence Finney does it YouTube- the watson dabbler
