Default Something For The Weekend!

Hello Chaps...

I've been tying for a month, so still very much a learner with very basic skills, I'll be on my local reservoir over the weekend, which is Walkerwood in Stalybridge.
If it's not too open a question, what flies should I have in my box for weekend?

All comments and questions much appreciated.
Pete.

Pete,
I fished Farmoor yesterday and the water is still cold, so unfortunately it was fast sink line and black booby most of the day, this despite a buzzer explosion with seagull gluttony. However, at about 6.00 pm I did get a couple on black buzzers (fish not seagulls) with a very long (25 ft) leader fished very very slowly.
Good luck.

Thanks Martin...

It's interesting you mention a 25 foot leader. I realised on my first trip out last week that my 9 foot leaders where a little too short, and at 4lb, I was also advised not to use the majority of the dozen or so flies that I had tied, as they were on size 8s' and 10s'.

Size 12 and 10 will be fine. you might also try a fast sink polyleader--they certainly help get your line down without using a sinking line.
