Default Mobile tail buzzers

Hi Guys

Got given a pile of old fly magazines found this stlye in a 1994 issue so tied a few to try out size 12 and size 10 in black an olive to play with. Reckon they should be killers, although im not to sure how long the tails will last

When I was younger and single I had this dirty great water butt outside .

In the dirty great water butt were Chironomidae and Mosquito larvae and pupae .

I did most of my fly design by netting samples and putting them in a milk bottle (usefully , in those days made of clear glass) and then trying to tie something that actually resembled the natural .

At much the same time I used to fish the Rutland Bank 3 nights a week and when I got home I religiously spooned out the gut contents of victims and more often than not they contained real buzzers and quite often they were still so alive that if I put them in the milk bottle they'd hatch out .

I reckon it is a far better idea to make your own imitations directly from nature rather than slavishly following the instructions of a bloke who wrote it in a magazine either for the princely sum of £50 or for even less if he just wanted to see his name in print !

But what do I know ( nice tie by the way ! )?
