Default want to learn to tie flies

i want to learn to tie flies but dont know what the easiest flies are to tie and what equipment to buy and what meterials for a starter.
i realy want to learn because im fed up of buying flies id rather sit down on a quiet night and tie a few for my box
i fish rivers and resoviours and a few stillwaters what easy patterns are their?

hello mate, im new to the forum but can tell you a few patterns and materials to start you off!....pheasant tail nymphs,diawl bachs,crunchers and buzzers.
these patterns will help you try all tying techniques and get used to the tools,
tool wise, (ceramic)bobbin holder, whip finisher,decent fine point scissors,
and a long fine needle and varnish.
materials
cock pheasant tail feathers, peacock herl,wire ribbing,threads,
cock and hen hackle,dubbing
also have a look at the forums s.b.s for tying or davie mcphail on youtube
that should get you started!
