Default Brown trout parr (EP tailed finger mullet style)

I knocked this up after signing up to Enrico Puglisi's website to gain access to the full lot of videos. I've tied up a brown trout parr coloured finger mullet complete with tail. I used Funky fibers to make the fly, colours are black/brown mix, tan, silver tan. Big browns better watch out this year, I'm armed to the teeth with streamer patterns.

Great. I must do more streamer fishing this year!

That's great SC, Funky Fibre is fantastic to work with and that's one of the better patterns I've seen so far that have used it. Have you weighted this dressing in any way?

It's not weighted Derek, the hook is quite a heavy wire so sinks enough.

Nice. What flies does he have up the website now?

PS: Glad you got the thread. Haven't had time to get into the ST patterns again. On the EP flies try halving the materials again. EP flies are wafer thin, translucent except for the floating series which are absolute crackers. I love them for snook and tarpon.

Steve I agree, still working on that, putting enough material on for a much bigger fly. But this is only the 3rd or 4th i've tied with EP/Funky fibers, so should get there soon.

So far there is Peanut Butter (free demo), EP permit, Finger mullet black tail, Trout streamer, Bay anchovy, Floating minnow, Everglades special, Spawning grass shrimp, Red's critters. All well worth watching, only about £14 for a years subscription and a new video a month.

I should sign up. I tie my own floating minnows but I had to pull apart a very chewed up old fly to figure out how they were done. I'd be interested in seeing how they're meant to be done! They're great flies. If done properly, they'll suspend perfectly upright about a foot below the surface (in saltwater). Strip, strip then let it sit until it gets smacked!! Here's one of the first I tied last year - badly. Still, it has already caught a lot of fish.

You should Steve, it's worth the money. I've watched the floating minnow video, there's quite a bit of foam used in the fly and I think it's meant to float fully at least that's the impression I got, who knows.
