Default jungle cock and best tools?

I think I read somewhere that there is a supplier of fine jungle cock in the UK somewhere. I come from Germany so would be interested to learn more about where I can buy directly from the breeder.

Also which tying tools do you consider best?
I have the C & F but am looking for high quality alternatives, probably even handmade ones.

thank you for your help

Marcus

Hi Marcus,

Here's a link to the Jungle Cock feather supplier, sorry I can't help with the fly tying tools. I think C & F tools are the best commercially available.

Hello Marcus & welcome to the forum. There are quite a few choices regarding quality tools these days, a lot of them are either of U.S. or Japanese origin. Phil Holding of www.spidersplus.com has some interesting looking ones, although I haven't actually seen them in the flesh. Wasatch do quite a range as well on Wasatch Custom Angling Products there several are others as well it just depends on what you want. Most of us use a mixture of different makes to suit our individual needs for the purpose we are doing at the time. Some companies just do wing burners, whilst others do wing cutting devices. Nigel Thompson of www.lakelandflying.com has a pretty comprehensive range of tools as well.

Hope that's going to be of some help to you.
