Just about to wrap it up for the day and decided I wanted to play on a pattern I'd seen a Finnish guy use on a sea trout... and I had the end of the flash in my box and decided to give it a bit of body like I do my pike flies... so it has 4 large cock neck hackles (white) tied kinky style... flash over then white bucktail over... then the balance of the hank of flash... 2x 6mm Funky Eyes 3D Laser Rainbow...

Bug-Bond to finish...

Tied on Size 4 Tiemco 811s

Enjoy

Nice idea. But too long to be an average baitfish imitation and wrong colour for a sandeel?

Can you show us a photo of the amount of flex possible with the Bug Bond?

Yup... totally agree on colour of sandeel... however, the piccie I took ths pattern off had a rather nice sea trout next to it... so... I've tied the one and I'll have it in my bag... Who gives a... I'm sure a fish will have it Steve... How many bright pink baitfish do you see and fish seem to hammer them...

Onto the flex question... what are you looking for... are you looking for something that has flex in it so it won't shatter or silicon snake style? You've seen it in action so you know it ain't thick silicon snake... but it will do flexfleyes and even thinner than BoBPop uses as it is non tacky... so you can get away with brush thru's.... and it won't shatter...

Feel free to ask more questions.

Cheers

D

Great fly, i've taken saltwater predators on milk bottle tops. cheese and onion crisp packets and lime green twin tail shads, with tiger stripes and googly eyes. Ive even toyed with the idea of adding ears to a lure

my edit

stroke fly

Carp photos with my mobile just for you Steve My version of Pops Siliclone now Flexfleye... no cracking and will bounce back... now the Surf Candy is solid but based on its flex characteristics, Andy Elliott proved that you could cast it against a brick wall with a 9ft 9# with a t14 and only mildly scuff the surface... those epoxy eyes in the candy will shatter first... and remember the flex from the states still needs hard as nails on top... how flexible is that??
