Question Fly tying thread,

Hi all.
I have just started tying again after a few years layoff, my old kit seems ok except for the tying threads which have become very weak.I used to use Steve Parton and Bob Church threads and was wondering what brands you would suggest nowadays ?
Tight lines.

Hi. Welcome to the forum. What are you going to be tying? I like the uni threads and utc threads. Try lakeland fly tying, cookshill fly tying and sportfish.

There are loads of others including Game fishing supplies on here who will help you out.

Tight lines
Paul

Uni 8/0 for me but having said that I've recently been using Steve Partons stuff (the thinner one on red bobbins) and it's excellent.

I'm still here and now that Bob's operation has sadly folded I'll let you into a little secret - I did all his threads for him !

Best deals on mine are on ebay

Over to you

utc 140 and 70 - uni 8/0 and 6/0 - sheer 14/0 - and trico 17/0 covers everything I need to tye. Think humungus may have a point about the bobbin holder though, think the threads would take years to deteriorate unless they were exposed to the elements.

Steve Partons micro thread (red bobbin) gets my vote for just about every tying, also use some Benecchi 12/0, its like gsp I think.
