Default Golden Olive Bumble

Here's my tying based on the original golden olive bumble pattern as far as I'm aware.

I find this quite a difficult style of fly to tie with loads of materials on small hooks but well worth the effort.

I know the photograph would be better if the fly was more focused and larger in the photo in order to help critique but I just can't get the photography right. I'll keep trying.

Small hooks BD? WTF What are you tying them on

Looks like a nice tie to me though

As far as the photography goes, there's a thread in the Fishing Photography section written by a couple of bums from this forum... you might be able to pick up a few pointers. See part 3.

After reading through Scratch and Capn Fishy's photography thread I took the fly outside and have managed a better picture.

I had a good idea lighting had a large part to play in my fly photo's and will need to rig up something for shooting indoors. I don't have a macro lens but will start saving.

Grumpy Big Brother says: try a couple less turns of hackle for a more translucent fly.

Hi Stan, thanks for your comment. I've had another couple of goes and have come up with this. Don't know if it's any closer to the mark ?

Same fly with a slightly different camera position.
