Default sherry spinner

Ive decide to put some Sherry Spinners in my box for this season. Here is my offering its Davie McPhail pattern.

The wing and thorax needs tying a touch further back to aid the profile I think!

Not the best angle of shot but it looks OK!

just as an experiment why not try putting a wee bend in the hook just behind the thorax on a couple, and see how they go.
The bend is done on the plane it sits on the surface and is about 10- 20 degrees. The logic behind this is that sherry spiiners are rarely straight but usually contorted from there efforts.
This is not my idea but based on Stuart Crofts cranked spinner pattern. Your pattern looks like it would suit this treatment.

Very nice John, when I tie them, I tend to run the red right down the body, it seems to work well here on the Eden and the Grayling go for them well.

They micro fibbets treated with water shed. Ive seen that paint brush bristles will do the same only difference is before you fish the fly theyt need a wipe with floatant.

The red thread is all the way through the body the peacock is just a rib with the thread showing through. The photo doesnt pick it up well Steven.
