Default Alternative to polypropelene yarn?

Hi all.
As the title suggests really. What can I use instead of polypropelene yarn for wingposts ?
I don't have any, and to be honest I'm not sure where to get it from.
I am keen to have a go at tying some dries, and I would like in particular to tie some Adams parachutes and a few others which use this material.
So, the alternatives please?
Thanks in advance,
Gary.

Dear Gary ,

If you ask us nicely or go on ebay we'll sell you 50m for a very few quid indeed .

It is Dapping Floss in another guise ( 1800 dtex ) !

Best wishes

Steve Parton

Or you could use - Pahmi Hair , Nylon flosses , our White Hard Nylon Wool , Bunches of Calftail , hackle fibre - frankly almost anything long enough in the staple length and white !

A product called "McFlylon" from Lakeland Fly tying is very good, it comes in a range of a few colours too. The yellow is great for Hi Vis posts.

TMC aero wing gets my vote, expensive though but the fluo white makes for good fly spotting.

Siliconised poly yarn from Niche products is as good as Aero wing but the colour range is limited. I get mine from Lathkill tackle.

There's a high-vis Parachute Adams pattern in "Fly Tying For Beginners" which uses orange booby eye material for the wing post. I've used that material for wing posts in larger sizes, and used CDC in smaller sizes.

(As usual, probably best not to judge the pattern too harshly on the basis of my attempts at it )
