Default Blue buzzers...

I tied some of these buzzers up just before the New year.I've fished them on nearly every trip out and never had the slightest touch on them.Fished my local yesterday and finally nailed some fish. Was wondering if anyone else has had any success on blue buzzers?

Blue buzzers do have their day, as does probably any colour! I am certain that blue suggests the air bubbles as they ascend to hatch.

Perhaps since New Year it has been too cold for many buzzers to hatch and therefore, bloodworm imitations may have been better - fished slow and deep. Smaller flies may have been the key.

Now the water has warmed a little, and therefore a few more buzzerd hatching, the blue, irridescent patterns may be more likely to take a few fish.

This is the fun of fishing - experimenting and then trying to find out why something works (or doesn't )

One of the lads I fish with, Russell Logan, swears by a blue buzzer with red holo cheeks. It is tied using stretched pearl mylar with a very fine silver wire rib. It looks weird but he catches enough fish on it that I now have a dozen in my box for those mid summer days when nothing is happening.

Cheers
