Default best for blobs

whats the best material you have bought for making up your blobs,, and what is the best way to apply the material to the hook shank ,, Ive used water to help straighten out the material and Ive tried a few brands ,,,but I'm just wanting to know if you guys are using something a little different from me that is just the ticket for tying up blobs ,,,and is their a known brand that tiers are using that has a good name among you guys..

Celtic Flycraft's Vampire Plush in sunburst has been most successful for me. It was recommended by Fred Bainbridge (Stillwater Angler). I've probably caught more on that than all the other colours put together.

I mainly use Craig Barr's of Flash Attack Products and Bill MacIlroy's (Pearly Dabbler on here).

Nearly forgot, as for hooks, Kamasan B980 or B982 #6 is hard to beat imho.

B160s are pretty useless/pointless, wire too fine.

Is this serious - or is it the death of Flydressing ??

Apart for the fact that most of the damned things in this string look nothing like the originals - they're far too neat!!

And , silly me , I had this strange impression that the idea behind flydressing and flyfishing was that you were supposed to be representing what the trout were actually feeding on - as opposed to taking advantage of genetically corrupted starving stockfish rammed in to a water on the day before the contest !

I reckon Skues and Halford both would have shot themselves before they used the damned things ( so that's Blobs for them as can't spell - or even remotely understand what we're supposed to be about ! .)
