Evening, thrillseekers. Here's a couple efforts I've been fooling around with so far this season... and managed to fool a couple of fish with too! Nowt earth-shattering like... just a few twists on old themes, and a few new material acquisitions given a bit of hook space

BOG Double

Tail: Mixed black, olive and golden olive marabou.
Rib: Black or gold wire.
Body: Black seals fur mixed with gold ice-dub.
Body Hackle: Black hen.
Under & Overwing: Black & gold crinkly flashy business.
Wing: As tail.
Cheeks: JC splits
Head Hackle: Black hen.

Black Sparkle Nymph

Hook: Black Nickel Comp Heavy size 10 or 12
Tail: Black Cock
Body: Black seals fur mixed with squirrel, and apinch of peacock ice-dub.


Same again, but replacing the black seals fur with hare's ear.....

Red Holo DB

Hook: B175 size 10 or 12
Tail: Mixed black and red cock
Rib: 'Wine' Holo (UTC)
Body: Peacock herl dyed red.
Beard/Throat: As tail
Cheeks: JC splits
Head/Thorax: Black Seals fur.

Little Yellow Dabbler

Hook: B175 size 10 or 12
Tail: Bronze Mallard dyed phosphor yellow
Rib: UTC wire 'Hot Yellow'.
Body: Mirage over Glo-Brite No.11 (Phosphor Yellow)
Body Hackle: Grizzle Hen dyed yellow.
Cloak: As Tail
Head: No.11

Kitten

Hook: B175 size 10,12, or 14
Tail: Mixed white and chartreuse marabou.
Rib: Silver wire.
Body: White & silver U.V. micro straggle.
Body Hackle: White hen.
Wing: As tail
Head: Glo-Brite No.10 or 11

Rootbeer Booby

Hook: B175 or 170 size 10, or 12
Tail: Mixed marabou - Olive, golden olive and 'damsel' olive
Rib: Gold wire.
Body: Squirrel mix - nat & yellow
Body Hackle: Grizzle Hen dyed ginger.
Wing: As tail
Overwing: M.O.P. Rootbeer
'Eyes': Black booby cord.

Rootbeer Hackled Cormorant

Hook: B175 or 170 size 10, or 12
Rib: Black wire.
Body: M.O.P. Rootbeer
Wing: Mixed marabou - Olive, golden olive, 'damsel' olive and black.
Cheeks: JC splits.
Hackle: Olive hen.

Rootbeer Cruncher

Hook: B175 or 170 size 10,12 or 14
Tail: Mixed cock - Olive and ginger.
Rib: Black wire.
Body: M.O.P. Rootbeer.
Thorax: Peacock herl.
Hackle: Grizzle hen dyed Golden olive.

Tail: Cock - Badger or Greenwell etc.
Rib: Black wire.
Body: M.O.P. Rootbeer.
Beard/Throat: As Tail.
Thorax/Head: Mixed squirrel - Nat and yellow
Cheeks: JC Splits

Great set of flies Rob I really like the look of that cormorant in particular.
You seem to be going through a rootbeer period and I have to say that they are far more interesting than looking at something from picasso's blue period

You have been a busy boy there Rob. First class as ever.
Really like the root beer cormorant and the mixing of the two marabous in the Kitten to make a nice new shade.

And only one dabbler!!!!!
