Default Fly tying/fishing store in Houston Texas?

Anyone by chance know of a good store? May have an hour or so to kill tomorrow afternoon.

Cheers

There is an Orvis store in Houston. But if you 'Google' houston texas+fly fishing you'll get quite a few 'hits.'

I can confirm there is an Orvis store, but it seemed to have more in the way of shooting and hunting clothing than the Orvis stores up here. I suspect that's because Texas is somewhat lacking in trout fishing opportunities.

Houston is an interesting little slice of Texas. Just after (the very English) Mrs. Grouse and I got married, she had a business trip to Houston. She called me at noon on her first day and asked if I'd ever been in a business meeting where more than half the attendees had arrived wearing cowboy hats and where more than one person was wearing spurs? Welcome to Texas, please discard anythign you ever thought you knew about "normal".

Whatever you do, don't make the mistake of calling Texas a "state", don't say anything bad about American football, and don't profess anything other than an absolute love of any and all types of guns.

And I hope you're not a vegetarian. Admitting this in Texas has roughly the same effect as admitting you have VD while in a public swimming pool.

Orvis sucks wherever it is. There's a Basspro but thought maybe someone new of something more specialised. Worth asking.
