Default Raymond Variant

Saw this little fella in a book and thought it looked an 'interesting' tie. I can't really see me fishing it and I certainly ain't tying another. The back end was pretty straightforward, a normal palmered wet, the front end though, 4 hackles and a slip wing - there's no surprise I crowded the eye and the head got a bit big!!

Thumbs up

Says he "tongue in cheek" you should have had a bit of red holographic for a butt and ordinary jungle cock eyes!
This is another variant of the Raymond Variant. Certainly fish it wherever you fish. Why not?
You have put a lot of effort into tying it - earn your reward. There is another variant described in ukflydressingproboards.co.uk
Well done

Thanks for all the kind words lads. I really enjoyed tying it to be honest. If i was doing it again I would tie at least a couple of the head hackles in before dubbing the body to keep the head a bit slimmer.

Sonnaghan - I will bear the holo and JC in mind , the flouro red butt was my addition but holo might look better. I struggle a bit with tinsel butts for some reason either they are way too big or look a bit rubbish .

All the best - Steve
