Default biot duck flys

Hi All,,Done these duck type flys today,,still to varnish the heads though,,

Thoughts please,,,lol be kind as i have not been tying long ,,,about 5 months,,

Should work fine.

They look good, especially the bottom one. I would only suggest trying to make the head a tad bit smaller:-)

well lets hope they work ,,,she going mad about sticking them in any plant i see graham lol,,,

I always seem to struggle with the heads for some strange reason,,

cheers sean,,,honestly im forever selling my gear but i want to stick at it this time,,,normally just tyed lures but have been trying traditional type flees for abpout 5 months and its very hard work lol,,

from the photo it looks like you used a dyed indian cock hackle. get yourself in touch with saracen and buy one of his natural black saddles - it will be the best £15 you will ever spend. will improve your traditionals no end I promise.

I was having similar problems. spend a little bit more on a decent saddle and you wont look back.

try using a finer thread for the head edd im a poet and didnt know it lol they are fine mate good luck catching on them

Hi mate,,,your right ,,was a cheap one from ebay,,it is a hen hackle though,,

They look very good edd7 and will definately catch, I think you're way beyond the curve for a person tying 5 months, don't sell your gear anymore and keep at it
