tied this up tonight

but whats the secret for keeping the skinny ??
im trying but they seem to swell up at the whip finish

try thinner thread touching turns down and same up one run is all you need its certain to catch troot pal keep at it youll master it

As Humungus says you only need to run the thread down to bend of hook and back up again for the body. Try to keep the head smaller aswell by tying in cheeks/thorax cover first and then building up the head. As for the whip finish you can get away with 2 whips if you are going to varnish the fly. On wets etc I would use 3 and then varnish the head aswell for extra strength

I now know what im doing wrong
i thought thread was thread WRONG (thanks Savage Take )
ive been using Uni 6/0
when i should be using Utc 70 or uni 8/0
thanks for the comments guys maybe tomorrows efforts will be a wee bit skinnier
a few wee samples to try to copy would be fantastic Scratch
