Default Stewart's Red Spider Help

Hello all i want to do a few stewart's red spiders but not sure what feathers to use.As i am all out of landrail at the moment i used some lesser coverts from a blue jay after reading this link River Don Trout Flies .But there is very few usable Feathers as most are too large.What's everyone else using as a substitute for landrail.Cheers

Out of Landrail!!!!, I have also used Jay but I have also used starling as an option. I now use Starling as a replacement for Dotterel.

Hello all does this fly look a good colour match for stewart's red spider Stewart's Red Spider Wet Trout Fly - Fish4Flies.com I have a small Ginger Keough hen cape that has an identical colour to this fly.I like the look of them Brahma Hens but how would the flies movement compare to wild birds Partridge Ect.Cheers
