I like i mate. Whats the cdc you've used? I've got some dyed cdc but it does not look as good as that.

Like it mate, even with the yellow cdc its defo worth a try

I would like to see it with a natural cdc wing though, just think it would look better

I agree 100%, its a nice fly and the nat, CDC would probably add something to it,

I think I can hear Skues turning in his grave.

OK he didn't invent it but it was his idea to include a bit of red in the dubbing, which the inventor, R.S.Austin agreed was an improvement. It was Skues who first published the dressing.
The hackle was blue dun.
The dressing was kept secret for many years, resulting in all sorts of weird creations being made and sold as Tups to meet the ever increasing demand.
These ranged, according to Courtney Williams, 'from the quite unbelievable to the totally impossible'.

Now those last 2 are making me wet very very nice mate!

As for the comments above it fly tying is all about using your imagination, personally i think all these past greats like skues, kite, williams etc would be over the moon that their patterns were still being used and played about with.
