Try spinning the tinsel to thin it down.
Dont fancy your chances trying to cut it evenly

The Peach doll was a very effective competition fly in the early 80's before blobs and boobies dominated. I tied a version with Peach wool back and tail over a pearl lurex body. I found that it worked best pulled very very fast or left static, in-between retrieves were much less effective.
I once had 4 fish at Grafham each of which took as I was reeling in at the end of a drift. needless to say when I treid to catch them like that deliberately nothing happened. A peach doll was also the fly that took a fish on my boat partners back cast at Pitsford. T He was still desperately trying to cast with a 2lb rainbow leaping about behind the boat while I was helpless with laughter! |
