Dry River Flies Swap
Start Date 11th March 2010 - Swap Ended and as far as I know everyone has their flies? - Results on page 9
Updated 02nd April 2010 - All done and dusted!
Following requests from some of the fellows on our last one, the next suggestion is for 'dry river flies' (the level is loosely described as beginner / intermediate but anyone is welcome).
9 tyers to be included and 2 extra done to forward to Casting for Recovery, so that's 11 flies from each participant.
Chosen pattern to be confirmed over the next week.
The tyers:
1. Squeeks - Kites Imperial 'Pushmepullyou' - Received
2. Degen83 - Peacock Caddis - Received
3. Splashtestdummy - CDC Emerger - Hosting
4. duttontom - Adams Paraloop - Received
5. mayflyjunky - Roof Winged Sedge - Received
6. Ivlacleod - Griffith's Gnat - Received
7. 1973dereks - Large Dark Olive Comparadun - Received
8. Taffbargoed - Traditional Hawthorn - Received
9. XL50 - CDC and Elk - Received
End Date Saturday 27th March 2010
i.e. Flies to be received here in sunny S Gloucestershire by Saturday 27th March, aiming to post them on Weds 24th would be good, if they're posted from across the water, then perhaps a little longer.
If I've got them all on the Saturday 27th, they'll be photographed and posted on the forum / in the Royal Mail circa Monday 29th.
A small SAE Jiffy bag works well (sent inside a plain envelope). From our experience with the last swap, it's also good to include a small but well proportioned plastic hook box for safe delivery and return of flies (I'll return exactly what is sent to me, bear in mind that the packages might get rolled through all sorts of machinery in a central sorting depot).
Please remember to fix return postage on your SAE.
This panel will be updated during the swap to keep everyone informed of progress. I'll PM the postal address out later.
... as ever, any prob's PM me.
