Default Hends tying threads

Hi folks,

Does anyone have any experience tying with Hends Synton thread? Would be interested to hear opinions on its properties.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

I tried Hends in the early 2000's and they were OK. Local product, thus easier and cheaper for me to get hold of than the imported stuff. I still have a couple spools of Synton and Grall somewhere on the bottom of my tying chest.

Synton is two strands of thin mono - good for smallish flies and tiny heads if you are into these - but does not hold dubbing easily.
The biggest issue I had with it was the narrow spool. I found that very difficult to work with and it was the chief reason I switched to UNI. Since then I never looked back

J.
