Default JC Splits?

Does anyone have a good method to repair JC splits? I'm getting down to the nitty gritty and would like to use up the rest of the cape.

Thanks in advance

feather weld is quite good but if you don't have any lying around then try using ordinary varnish by putting it on fore finger and thumb very lightly and then slip the J.C through your fingers with steady pressure and repeat if needed but i find only once is all thats needed if done correctly the first time .

their is a link to a post that shows what to do by step by step i will see if i can find it for you.

here are some good links.

these should give you all you need to know and more.

I recall talking to Davie McPhail at one of his demos and he mentioned not to be put off by using split JC as once its in the water it doesn't really matter or make any difference to the attractiveness of the fly to the trout.

I find once I've used a sea trout fly a couple of times the JC splits regardless, and it doesn't make them any less effective.

Old Jock, I think Davie McPhail shows how to use JC splits on his videos on Youtube. Certainly they look top drawer.

Thanks Boys, I actually like to use the split feather as Davie demonstrates on YouTube as well, but its when the feather is split 3-4 times. I'll give the instructions above a go....should work.

Regards,
