I'll sell you some base white and some dye .

Before the dye works you will first have to comprehensively degrease the stuff ( which I think is the point of cdc ) .

And after dyeing you'll have to regrease it - but fear not I sell neat 100% pure fine Silicone Oil quite cheaply - and that means a whole lot more cheaply than folks who sell 'cdc' oil - which tends to be the same stuff.

Sorry about this Lucien but we may as well tell them before we die !

Best wishes

Steve parton

Steve, the quality of c.d.c. that Lucian uses is unique, if you haven't seen it then bite the bullet & get some it's phenomenal. There are loads of people that dye c.d.c. but after trying many of them, they're not on the same planet as Lucian's.

The feather's structure is what make c.d.c. so buoyant, the grease content helps slightly, but only slightly.

Hello,
For excellent quality CDC, see Flyfishing, flytying: Cul de canard feathers for tying all cdc flies.
At 2,80 euros /g , you have 120 to 150 feathers from 2 to 6cm length.
