Default Knotted pheasant legs
A wee tip that might help in knotting herl.
I have used a crochet hook in the past but I have now started using one of the fly clips supplied by Scratch.
Hold the thick end of the herl between your finger and thumb.
Throw a loop in the herl,
pass the tip of the clip through,
open it and grip the fine end of the hell.
pull it back through and let go of the herl.
Simples

Tightlines sell the tails knotted for £3.99 ,thats where i normally get mine ,a good tip though if you have the patience .

Haven't got any of Scratch's clips but I usually form a loop in the herl and put a pair of hackle pliers throught the loop, grab the herls and pull the pliers back through
