Default Elk & Moose Shuttlecock Buzzer

I really like the look of body of white Elk and dark Moose hair on my buzzer patterns. So far it seems a bit more durable and much easier to work with than the old Peacock Quill

Cheers!

Have you wound white elk hair to form the body?
It looks very smooth almost like floss.

Looks like a lot of iron for cdc to support...i like colours though and would use foam over here.

Thanks guys

maharg, the body is 1 white hair of Elk belly and 1 dark hair of Moose mane, wrapped together using a rotary vice and lightly lacquered. Makes for nice color contrast and thin & smooth body.

g bigtrout, I have intentionally used CDC here - foam is durable and floats like hell, but on calm days it may spook fish. CDC is much more subtle, but will not support a cast of other buzzers on a washing line and tends to become waterlogged after first or second fish.
So I tie them both ways
