Not really, it's just the deer hair head thats the time consuming part.

hi there i have never fly fished for pike but i want to try it how hard is it to cast one of them

Hi. You just need to beef up your set up accordingly to a #9 or #10 weight. The top fly is very easy to cast as it weighs very little and doesn't soak up water. The diver is a bit trickier as it's more wind resistant but you can still chuck 'em out no bother.
