Default replacement for Antron dubbing

HI All,

I am looking to tie small 16-18 black floating drys. I normally use seals fur for 12-10s but on small hooks it just doesnt hold up and you loose the slim shape of the body.

Antron looks the biz but it doesnt float like seals fur. Any ideas the fly i have in mind is bascially a ball of black 3-4mm wide on a 16-18 small hook with no hackle.

Any ideas from master fly tiers?

For flies in this size range I would recommend Musk rat dubbing. It has very fine hair and as it is water animal its fur has some natural water resistance. Works great for me
