Thumbs down mayfly nymph - help

hi folks can anyone help please. trying to tie mayfly nymph - it works well on the Mid -Avon and most still waters I fish. Having probs tying in pheasant tail feathers to represent wing case and legs. Perhaps I am trying to tackle something too hard for a newbie Could a hares ear on a larger scale work? need a large glass - bit chessed off .... Cheers liz
