oops think they should of changed this spool of thread with price written on to co-incide with there price

well noticed,had to look hard to see what you meant at first, (waiting on my glasses arriving) but yes its certainly a boo boo.

Ooops , it's interesting though. I have been looking around for some Purple Gossamer and some supplier of the various colours of Marabou... do Pearsall's still do Marabou? - it's 25 years since I bought my last lot and that's what the local angling shop sold.

Seems that most game retailers can only buy Pearsall's stuff through Veniard and that Persall's own embroidery site sells the spools at £2.50 (and no Marabou).

I'm somewhat curious as to the versions available for fly tying these days AND if there's ANY actual difference from the embroidery thread... surely the original tyers used this?

ianasmith, Yes they do, it should be easy enough to find. There are several other pure silk flosses on the market as well.
