Don't forget your favourite caenis patterns.

The hatches are enormous.

Last time I fished one was with John (Merkister) the trout were scooping them up off the surface and we were catching. Mind you when we/hatch had finished I was spitting them out from my mouth as I had them crawling all over me.

So yes perhaps you are right to head to the bar!

Colin your a bloody tease writing a post and then not having any picture to show for it. Similar to having a glass of whisky without the whisky

As for the anglers curse they have good nutritional value.
Im maybe a persitent ****** but I keep fishing and catching

Nice flies ST are they good in a caenis hatch
The most productive fly that I get to work for me during caenis is a Hutch's pennell dont ask me why but it works for me.

Eye Candy! the trout will like em too
There is nothing better than tying in preparation for a fishing trip or holiday. I am currently doing something similar filling a box for Caithness in the summer.

Aye Andrew,3 indispensible Harray flies there,Merky Maid, Peach Muddler and Doobry Muddler. My first line of attack in a caenis hatch are suspender buzzers, claret or hares ear, dont be fooled by rising fish and putting "dries" on,they rarely take the surface flies, but gorge on the nymph, can be fantastic sport with pods of fish coming at you, look out for the "slicks" and calm lanes, that's where you will find them,
Cheers KEN
