Sorry to disagree m8, but if the tier would 'flatten' out the shape under the fly ..it would then create a 'wake' as well as shape the head..[like a slanted 'L',giving a bit of a 'lip to it] it will then..Pop..as it skimmed across the water..

thought you might like to see one that has proved it's tie..

thats fantastic mr wolf did you tie it ?? as i said in the first post its only my second time using deer hair we all have to learn

for a first time tie...great m8...yes , I tied that fly, long time ago..believe me it took time..since then..muddlers/sculpins, I make and use a lot........just keep at it Scott, you'll get the hang of it..........Daniel

Good effort Scott,but I get the impression that you may not be using a strong enough thread?.The fly is top heavy which means that you have'nt let the deer hair spin round the hook enough.When you have put the deer hair on the hook shank you have to pull it tight and let it spin as you wrap to get an even distribution.
Keep at it though,it's a good effort.

It's nearly a G+H sedge mate ,but it will catch fish pulled in a wave
