Default What are the Popular Salmon Flies?

I am thinking about tying some salmon flies.

Except for the Ally's Shrimp, can I please be advised on what salmon flies are popular in the UK.

Thanks

Thank you Fenton for the list of flies. I was thinking of the Cascade and am going to tie one up which I have seen the in March issue of the Trout & Salmon magazine.

Other flies would be great

Suprised nobody threw in the Park Shrimp or Monkey for consideration.

Mind you I suppose, Posh tosh/Monkey/Sunrays are much the same.

Yes, I nearly included a Park shrimp, but really I think any shrimp fly with yellow, orange and black will see you right.

Interesting point too re monkeys. Sometimes they almost seem to be a generic name for black winged flies! My perception is that a monkey refers to a very long winged fly, (with respect to the body), originally tied with monkey hair and almost a specific way of fishing it. (Often cast square, and fished fast, looking for the induced take). Although I know it also catches fish when fished more traditionally.

Been looking in the internet for the Park Shrimp. It looks like a very nice fly.

Does anyone know what the body is made of?
