Default looking for a cruncher cape

Hi all im looking for a cape for tying crunchers but not a cheepy looking for one that will last a lot of flies size 10 to 14
been looking for about a year now with no luck

I recently purchased a metz grade two hen neck in furnace from Dave Downie for £12.00 and they make lovely crunchers! ATB Ian

You relly dont need anything that is to fancy.
I have a bag full of hen capes that used to be sold as a bargin dozen and they suit me well.

What about a webby cock saddle, something like a Metz #2 or a Shannon. But I do as maharg does and use any old hen cape! or the feathers from the top of a JC cape.

just got a metz grade 2 hen neck furnace great for crunchers £15 off celtic flycraft i d also try cookshills fly tying brill for capes feathers+skins

Richy, either you've not been looking very hard, or your requirements are impossible to meet. Exactly what do you want from one or two turns of hen hackle, that you haven't been able to find in a year long search?

Greenwells cape from Gerry. He's got them in about 8 different colours. Excellent cruncher capes for the price of a pint + a bag of crisps.

Thanks for all the feed back and people to try
Iv bought a lot of capes over the years but it's trying to get a good colour and size out of a cape
I did have a realy good cape until my cat got a hold of it but I can't remember where I got it from as I got it about 8 years ago
But I'll keep looking cheers again
